Temporary COM Port Deactivation Due to Microsoft Windows Driver Updates
Windows driver updates can temporarily deactivate the COM port.
If Toolbase is queried during this period, an SPS error may occur. In most cases, simply restarting the PC is sufficient; afterwards, the defect flag can be cleared.
Recommendation (Customer IT): Disable automatic Windows updates and implement a controlled update process. Updates should be installed during defined maintenance windows, followed by a check of the devices (COM port, cabinet connection, functionality test). This helps prevent downtime and error messages.
